The whole idea all along was to use this as a way to motivate me to get through my first triathlon. Ironically, it was the writing I lost motivation with and the training that was the enjoyable part, maybe too enjoyable. My targets for next year are more triathlons, longer triathlons and a swimrun event. No more going through the motions.

We loaded up and headed for Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. We drove our scooters around the 16 mile loop. A peaceful and scenic drive out by the bay, through the oak groves and grassy marshes. If you are ever in the South Texas Coastal area, it is well worth a visit.
